Can you recall which of your vids it is where you break up the scales and permute the internal components? You mentioned in that vid about keeping a notebook with all the variations.

as you said the dorian scale is DEFGABCD
the d-minor scale is DEFGABbCD
but not much of a difference

Right! but arn't there many minor scales...? Melodic Minor, Harmonic minor DORIAN minor etc....Dosen't that still make the doriand minor "A" D minor scale? I know and use the scale you tabbed out above but I wasn't aware that it was reffered to as simply the D minor scale or those intervals period as being the "minor scale"? Know what I mean? i thought every minor scale had it's own name? I'm fucked up I guess..
