A: Each group of instruments (strings, woodwind, brass, percussion) is shown in a separate layer, and has a different size and degree of blur; this helps you see when instruments in more than one group are playing the same pitch at the same time.

He had clear, normal hearing in his youth.
What Peter Le Tissier is saying is, that he never heard a note of THIS tune, which true, because by the time he started working on the 9th symphony, his hearing'd been completely lost.

Althought he was deaf his "inner ear" was so trained he didnt need to listen to his music to know how he want it to sound. Once youve studied enough about the Tonal system and trained your ear through listening and score reading you can just make music "sound" in your head. Many of the process that occur during the symphony were rationalized through the system
