  • I've updated the file download link

  • What program can you use to make the image strips, cuz I just cant get them the right spacing apart....

  • @jeremythecool I actuallly use mspaint. I just figure out what coords everything should be at then draw a grid first for me to line my frames up against. There are some animation programs available to help, like allegro sprite editor, I can't paste the link cause youtube won't let me

  • Easy to understand! It is a great tutorial which helps a lot to understand to use Bliz commands abbout animation sprites.

  • thanks! ;-)

  • Can you tell us why you used a createtimer(10) for your example?

    Isn't that pretty slow/jerky for a game?

Great tuts, btw - keep 'em up.

  • that was just to run the program slower so you can see the animation properly. Ideally in a game, you would have a main game timer, running at at least 30 framer per second and a frame counter. You would then check teh frame counter each time to check which frame of animation to display for the sprites. It gets a bit complex and will need another video to demonstrate.

  • this is great, i love it. usually this stuff is intimidating to noobs, but you menage to explain in in 10 minute vid, sure it is basic level, but that is most important part to understand.

    thx for this

  • Haha, I suck at making sprites.

  • wht did u do? i cant figure it out

  • "amcadam revolution of Blitz3D on internet" xD

    cya

  • nice tut, im getting blitz 3d soon.

i used to (still do sometimes) use gamemaker to make my games, but it had poor 3d functions so i had to look for another program.

i was focused on c++ for a long while but it was hard to program 3d in c++, especially cause i had no experience with c++ :S.

but BASIC is easy to understand. and with basic3d i really see myself getting some nice projects.

lol incase your wondering why im writing this.

well, im just telling my story :D
