  • that was pretty nice. Aikido has some very good joint manipulating skills. But it is kinda useless against a striker of any kind if they are know what they are doing.

  • aikido is ment to deal with attacks of any nature or intensity,or of any skill ,a punch is a punch ,the background or "art" of the attacker doesn't matter ,skilled fighters just give us a couple more tries to get control..opposed to a un skilled glory punch...thanxs for the comment ,your friend HAMILTON

  • awsome attack line, very nice blending and very nice scoop against the kick. who is your teacher?

  • Sensei Robert B MacEwen jr...thanxs for checking my video out....th

  • i beg to differ, a friend of mine trained with a 6th dan in aikido. He pummled Martin (the 6th dan), his attacks were too fast for him and not so telegraphical as the attacks shown here. Martin wanted to give my friend his rank. truth is..aikido is wonderful for defense against grabs or glory punches..but is very hard to use against a real striker. that's probley why we don't see any aikido artist in any fighting compt's like ufc or wec or the many others around the world.

  • but note that none of the attackers threw a 2nd attack let alone a 3rd or 4th. one single attack is very easy to defend against..how about 3 semi-fast strikes. If he could defend against that I might be a little more impressed. He does use good technique. I know I have also studied aikido and use some techniques to my advantage, but mostly for people that grab for me or push me.

  • congratz on ni dan!

  • My teacher is Sensei Steven Weber.

  • Congradulations! You looked good on the attack line.
