Hubble images are made, not born. Images must be woven together from the incoming data from the cameras, cleaned up and given colors that bring out features that eyes would otherwise miss. In this video from HubbleSite.org, online home of the Hubble Space Telescope, a Hubble-imaged galaxy comes together on the screen at super-fast speed.

Very cool to see the process, though the music really undermines the importance and beauty of the final product.

Absolutely one of the TOP WORST music soundtrack choices EVER to accompany a video!

Just as I suspected. The Hubble telescope is a fake. It's all done in a studio in Burbank.

our vision is very limited in a certain way, so hubble images are edited to help us to see how they really look. if a bee and many other insects were watching a galaxy or a nebula trough a telescope they would see the pictures in a different way it's like they have a photoshop software in their eyes.

Stupid people. Stupid people everywhere...
How possibly could you see ultraviolet or infra-red part of the light emitted by some object if they wouldn't shift it into colours of visible spectrum? If you want to see it with your eyes, it has to be in visible spectrum. Otherwise you wouldn't see it. And since these wavelengths contains a lot of information about an object, they make you see it by shifting. They put an effort into it only so that you can call it a fake? Come on, grow up.

Guys, calm down. At least do some research before whining. The first result when googling "hubble raw download" is the page hla . stsci . edu (remove spaces before and after dots) where you can get theseoriginal photos.

Each of these 7 cameras looks at different wavelengths. In every colour camera there are 3 types of sensor: one for red light, second for green, and third one for blue light. When combined, they create an illusion of a full visible spectrum. Hubble uses very similar principle, although it uses 7 colours instead of just 3, making spectral measurements much more accurate.
