I bought mine about 3 years ago and it came WITHOUT instructions....it doesn't look as good as this....
-
the 4 'extra' quarter round pieces connect the supports with the truss... look again at the picture. They are only shown in the top view and not the bottom view.
-
The two pieces you have left over doesn't go on the EL train.I know I'm from Chicago The EL platforms I ever stood on back home in Chicago were always a light green color as I remember them.
-
with the arches at the end couldn't you cut out the inside which will give you the same arches in the instructions.

Hi, can I ask what you used to stain it?
Cheers -The Big L :)

That's Great! Fantastic model representation. Now all you have to do is make another 30 to 40 units to have a small layout. See you in the nut-house.

As it happens, I watched "The Blues Brothers" last night, largely filmed in Chicago. During a couple of the car chases, I noticed that the quarter-round pieces are used as supports for the station platforms.
Nice series; I like your use of higher frame rates during the repetitive activities combined with detailed explanations (not just "how" you do something, but "why" you decided to do it that way).
Keep 'em coming!
