@Wonkosart, aside from earlier comments (this song fascinates me), I say this is an allegory of domestic violence representing 1 of following: socialist advance as threat 2 imperialist order, hence the lyric "sack the maid - for dealing in state propaganda", or the post-communist break-up of Russia (u get that from the Eastern European feel to the song). Or mayb the crushing of Saddam's tin-pot dictatorship in Iraq? 4 which lyric at the end "a Jewish prince is on a hill" is part'ly interesting

Sometimes, even when you're stuck up your own arse a far as L.H., you can still make superlative music. Again and again.....

as with most works of lyrical genius, it is multilayered in meaning. I think most directly it speaks of the enemy within, with lyrical references to the lyrical subject being "against the west". Could be intepretated to mean fundamentalist terrorists. Interestin to x-ref this with lyrics in another song on the same album called "Land Lovers', which could have had the Taliban in mind "..made you a target for American bombers". Lots of references to those apart from the herd on Murder Pk.
