  • Hi supporters of UfSO, we have had to mutilate the video after a complaint. Hence audio replacement. If you go to our blog (universityforstrategicoptimism[dot]wordpress[dot]com), you can check out another video edit of this intervention, plus the transcript of the lecture. That same alternative video edit can be found on youtube if you search for University of Strategic Optimism. Please continue to follow our movements and get involved if you can!

  • All UfSO fans, please check out our second lecture - held in the breakfast cereal aisle of a Tesco store! Search for "University of Strategic Optimism" on youtube.

    Also, visit our blog: universityforstrategicoptimism[dot]wordpress[dot]com

  • Bravo!

  • Banks then hire lobbyists to press the government and media to reduce the deficit as quickly as possible as this then increases the value of the government bonds they have bought with our money.

  • Joseph Stiglitz also says that banks are not lending because they have identified a much more lucrative income stream. First of all the lend money from central banks at an exceptional low rate of interest (0.5% in the UK) and then use this money to buy government bonds at a much higher rate. They are currently making profit by loaning our own money back to us. Wealth –creators indeed!
