This is a simple time lapse video of an awesome winter sunset and sunrise. The total footage was about 3 hours and 45 minutes. This shows the Middle Rio Grande Valley on the east edge of Valencia County in central New Mexico. I was overnight camping in the western foothills of the Manzano Mountains.

  • Wow... practically speechless! That was gorgeous... loved the way the clouds built up and flowed during sunset... powerful. Thanks!

  • @intenseangler Thanks man! I appreciate it. Very powerful indeed! One of those moments where you stop for 5 mins and just try to take it all in.

  • Great video as always. The wind was awful on Saturday. Hope you and Monzanoman have a fun camping trip this weekend. :)

  • @Ambear505 Thanks for watching! Yeah, the wind was blowing steady all evening Sat, all thru the night into Sunday. Even being in the rain or under a tarp all day is more enjoyable then 35 mph steady winds. This weekend looks to be better weather.

  • Thanks for taking me back to the most beautiful skies of New Mexico. Perfect music selection to complement the beautiful photography.

  • @SnowLobo95 Thats the place! I have only been there once when I was younger and remember it being pretty epic in my mind. My friend knows the area well and has got me stoked to go back and spend a week backpacking there. Oh man, I'm looking forward to it and I'll be keeping you in mind when I get out there and film it!

  • @wawhiker Thanks Bill. I was blown away too... literally because it was a steady 30 mph wind all evening and all the next morning! Made for a dazzling time lapse effect tho!

  • @CrazyTaileZ No way! As a boy we would camp out in the White Mountains on the Apache reservation. We have a month long family reunion at White River. It's absolutely beautiful up there.

  • @ez2curanut Thanks! Usually they open the gates, campgrounds, and everything else up April 1st and close everything up November 1st. Found this out the hard way last year... went up in March and everything was closed and I ended up camping off the side of the highway. It was fun, but not THAT fun. :-D

  • @SnowLobo95 Thanks man! I appreciate that. I sometimes take for granted what I get to see on a regular basis and realize that there is a uniqueness to the desert that is different then anywhere else. I'm glad to be able to share it with you and anyone else who can appreciate it. I have on my list of planned backpacking trips the White Mountains there in eastern AZ so I hope to bring you some more good memories of the homeland!
