It's simply impossible for one to talk about legendary scary films and don't speak about The Innocents. This 1961 classic was directed by Jack Clayton and based on the 1898 novel The Turn of the Screw by Henry James. The film, which inspired movies such as The Others, tells the story of Miss Giddens, who takes care of two little children. But strange things start to happen and Miss Giddens knows there is something terribly wrong. The film stars an amazing Deborah Kerr (The King and I, The Sundowners) as Miss Giddens.

In the Scariest Horror Films Top 10, The Springwood Slasher shows some of the scariest films ever made. Note: Like the other lists, this is all just opinion-based.

  • once again this shows your incredible taste in movies!

so awesome you put a great classic like the innocents in your list. and you really show the scary moments of this film, great editing

  • Honestly, I love this film. It's genuinely creepy and scary, with all it's strong implications of physical and emotional abuse, child abuse, rape, pedophilia, incest, madness, denial, religious delusion, sexual repression, psychological terror, ambiguous ending, etc. It's a film that stuck with me for many years. Great choice!

  • dolly dearest should be in this list..

  • oh god i remember this movie! my grandma would play it and it would scare me half to death as a young child. great video as always! really did well with the editing.

  • apiiiikkkkkkk. ngeri ...............

  • If we don't see the original Woman in Black or The Haunting on this list, I will be disappointed. Session 9 or The Legend of Hell House would also be acceptable.

I applaud your list so far, though, with the exception of Paranormal Activity.

  • Which is the most movie that made it to the top in all of your top ten lists? Is there a movie you simply couldn't ignore to include in the top 10 lists?
