Worthless baby boomer crap ! there the ones who created this, destroying America and depeleting the wealth of my generation let alone future generations, I hope they suffer in there old age for there lack of foresight. My generation has know choice we have to survive outside the chicken coop, "Dam you all to hell".

jasong19711 -"the late 80s fucking sucked as far as jobs go"
you are correct. There was a banking scandal and a Real Estate Crash also. 1970's had the fake gas shortage driving up prices of all oil based things, said glass weighed to much and switched to plastic containers. 1969 had the massive lay off in the space industry. I grew up in that area. My Father was affected by that. Empty subdivisions by the score!

justlaxin22 - I am 52 and can not afford car insurance, so I have no car. I have no health insurance so I only go to the doctor when I have absolutely have to. I have no cell phone...can't afford that . I play the old game of "just keep the utilities on" I am too sick to work and yet not sick enough for the government. I live with an owner of a business and take appointments for my room/ board and internet connection.
I worked all my life. Had a car my entire adult life to.

jasong19711- "we can always hire young people from other countries who are willing to do the same jobs & it is fact happening even now."

How many are being trafficked like the slave trade, indentured servitude? The human sex trafficking trade is alive and well throughout the world including the USA and many of it's multinational corporations some involved in the wars. Dynacorp for example.

DIJV79 -The 50/ 60's seemed to have job security. There was opportunity and corporations were setting the table pretty for the "workers" But small Mom and Pop businesses were thriving . Made in the USA was standard not the exception. Health care was simple and affordable for most people. Doctors didn't need a staff just to handle the insurance paperwork. Having health insurance was really over the top but most men were in the service so health care was taken care of in Base Hospitals.

to DILV79:
I LIVED through that era.
I remember what it was like trying to find a
job. U-HAUL made a fortune because everyone I know was using them to haul their stuff around the country in search of a good job or jobs that would only last a year or two. Everyone I knew did not have the "job security" you are referring to. Maybe in the mid 70s but not in the 80s, sorry!
