  • If you get a new high end graphics card, don't buy the type that vents heat internally, like my GTX 580 Twin Frozer II. The XPS can only take a 80mm fan on the back which may not be enough. My GPU hits 98° C (with the case closed) and case temperature puts the CPU as risk.

  • I've got this pc too , !

bought it from my neighbour ! very cheap ! and i luv it

  • nice set up man i have the same comp need a decent size monitor do only have 19 inch

  • You can upgrader your dell xps 420/dimension 9200 with any atx PSU.

  • can someone give me an idea of what games i could play if i buy the system stock and no upgrades? and famous dx 9 titles?

  • ur lucky i have a 420 but not the yellow red and white ports

  • far out im from new zealand and i have the same computer from dell. mine is 3Gb ram and a 500Gb hard drive but its alot different inside than urs. the motherboard is black with Nvidia on it, very nice and fast tho

  • You can upgrade it BUT only with a DELL compatible PSU. So if you have the 375w PSU you can only upgrade to the 425w psu dell offers. There is also a site pcpower(dot)com which sell dell compatible PSU's right now. They only have a 500w PSU that is compatible with the XPS 420/430. Hopefully they will come out with high rated ones in the future.
