  • @munky I think I paid about $400 for it 5 years ago. It's rated at 5.5cfm @ 90psi. I don't think there's much you can do to quite down an oilless.

  • it's awosome!!!!!! where did you get it? did you make it ? please tell me how to make it?

  • I made most of this muffler. Everything came from Home depot. The air filter at the end of the muffle is a complete unit sold for less than $10. Using various 3" PVC fittings and small pipe segments I put everything together.

The pieces are 3" section of pipe, 90* Pipe elbow, 3" section of pipe, NPT to 3" pvc fitting, 3" PVC "T", cap for one end of "T", NPT to 3" pvc fitting, Air filter.

  • @brianjonesphoto Is it just a lawnmower muffler?

  • @quackers9999 no the black metal portion is an air compressor intake filter and the rest is PCV.

  • @brianjonesphoto Even the filter came from home depot? I can't find one at the one here in bay area (california). Guess I'll try Lowes next and maybe I'll get lucky.

  • @KooLaidblue Yes the filter came from homedepot. I don't know if they are still selling them or not. In person it the much quiter with the expansion chamber attached than just the filter.

  • What can u run...da sander impact?

  • is thise the 30 gallon oil lubricated ar compressor from home depot

  • Thanks for the idea. My oiless compressor has a stupid little plastic housing that holds a piece of foam for a filter. So I took out the foam and bolted on a round plate with a 1" pipe thread hole already in it. I then went out and found a tin shaped filter to thread onto it. There is a fitting on the side of this filter to push a hose onto it, so I used 4' of garden hose and ran it behind the compressor. Now it doesn't make that awfull loud rattling noise any longer.

  • amazing! can u share me the details how u make this please, cuz im thinkin about how can i lesser the sound of my 12volt air compressor.. thank you

  • @kzkevin888 Don't need to drain all the air out of it. Just open the drain long enough until there's no more water sputtering out, then close it.

There are also automatic draining devices you can get that will automatically drain once a certain amount of water has accumulated.

  • do we have to drain our air compressor every day or once a month is good. I drain it every use but I am tiring of waiting for it to air up. it is a 33 gallons craftsman one. If I don;t drain it will it rust or its like a water heater

  • umm its just a picture

  • sounds quieter without the expansion chamber
