You act as if there's a purpose to life if there's no god. If you're right, my friend, then it was mere chance that brought us into existence, and purpose does not arise from random chance.

According to your beliefs, then, life is pointless. I suggest you speak in accordance with your beliefs and stop adjuring others to put "time and effort" into anything other than what brings them pleasure.

@Tchado1000 Um... you need to read the book again. Jesus taught that no matter WHAT you do, you'll never be good enough to get to heaven on your own. The only way to get to heaven is to be absolutely perfect, all the time. God knew that we could never do that, so He sent His Son to live a perfect life and die as the sacrificial lamb, taking all of our sins on His shoulders. Acts 16:31 says "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved." His blood is the ONLY way you can be saved.
