After getting a few requests for a detail strip video on the Glock, I saw there are already several good ones here on YouTube, so here's a description of the NY1 trigger upgrade! I hope you guys enjoy.

  • @floatingaxehead so I'll be fine if I put the ny1 spring back in? Is this federal or state law? Or just asking for trouble in general??

  • @Patmclean232 Oh, there's no law or anything. Like I said, it's great for competition. But because it's not approved by Glock and most PDs use the NY1 spring and standard connector, it can become a problem to defend in court if the terrible happens and you're ever forced to defend yourself with it. Claims that you were negligent, adrenaline made you shoot your "hair trigger" on accident, etc. It's defensible, but more hassle on top of a traumatic event. Remember, the jury are not your peers...

  • Well thanks to your video I realized why the parts in my Glock differed from the one in the 3.5 trigger bar&spring instalation video.. My Glock already had the ny1 spring in it.so I spiked that and put the regular sponge in it and I'm happy as a clam. Thanks for the great video!!

  • @Patmclean232 Just keep in mind that the "-" connector is NOT APPROVED for carry with the regular spring. It's great for competition, but don't even think of using it for a carry pistol. Not approved by Glock, even if you do everything correctly it'll be difficult to defend in court that "you knew better than the manufacturer". But with a good overtravel stop and quality sights, it'd be a great piece for a 3-gun match!

  • hey just thought of something also ive looked before and didnt find anything but can you link me to a case where someone has been sued from using a so called modified pistol trigger in their gun for self defence?

  • Your best bet would probably be to read some Massad Ayoob- the man is like a walking encyclopedia of shooting related legal cases. Look up his books and I'd be shocked if he didn't cover it.

  • Spring rather not sponge ! Damn u auto spell!!

  • Thanks for the video. I just put in a ny1 on my 26, your video helped a lot. I see your in Tucson and in the AF. I was their at DM back in the early 80's, I loved Tucson and DM was a great assignment. I was security police.

  • Great video! Very helpful, but the first time the the slide lock was loose the gun would work but it locked back when slide was racked. The second time the spring on the slide stop slipped off (almost lost) however I got the spring back on reassembled and got tension back on slide lock and it works perfect. You might want to cover this in the reassembly and and attachment of slide stop. Video was very helpful.

  • i am an xd kind of guy never had a hard on for glocks .....not here to bash gaston glock he IS a bad ass after all for designing his first pistol in 18 months through the ministry of defence for the austrian army .....i just love my xd rip-off lol ha what im really here to say i still cant get over that bad-ass LED cactus on your wall that has to be the most hard core thing i have ever seen you better have bought 2 just in case that one goes ...couse thats how i quikly find your vids hahaha

  • the other way mas talks about going is to put the 8.0 lb connector with the stock spring. and this makes a more consistent takeup and maintains more of the 5.5 lb pull.

  • Nice Peace
