Right click the song while the flash drive is plugged in and click consolidate files this will allow you to take out the flash drive and still listen to the songs

@megawert It was the only way, either having your flashdrive in, or your iPod connected to your computer. For me, I don't find it a problem, however if you don't like that, I am sorry I don't know how to help you...

@MrMICHAELCABOOSE if u would like me to tell how i did it let me know cause having ur flashdrive in all the time is bs this video is horrible its not how u should actually do it and i suggest whoever comes across it to not do this because it is a waste of time

@MrMICHAELCABOOSE thats the thing i dont want to have my flashdrive always in the port do u know of a different way to fix it or do u just always have ur flashdrive plugged in cuz i know theres different ways to put all of it on and im going to try tomorrow

@megawert Oh, see, what happens is whenever you have you iTunes open, whatever songs you transferred from your flashdrive needs to have that file from the flashdrive if you want to listen to that song. So in order to play selected songs, you need to have your flashdrive still in the USB port, or your iPod connected to your computer.

i was wondering if u could help i did what u said but now i cant listen to my itunes unless i have the external hard drive plugged why is that? it says i have to locate the original whenever i try to listen to music with out the hard drive plugged in

@salonteez Yeah, I followed the video instructions, but uh..... whenever I try to play a song on the computer, I get this message
"The song (insert song here) could not be used because it's original file could not be located. Would you like to locate it?"
