Friends, this is your opportunity to learn an old school craft and make it entirely your own - this ain't your gramma's embroidery! This video is your introduction to embroidery basics and your guide is embroiderer extraordinaire Jenny Hart, founder of Sublime Stitching, the original, independent DIY company that introduced pinups, robots, tattoos and some rock-and-roll to embroidery design. Be certain to watch the other videos in our Embroidery Playlist and prepare to get your stitch on!

Jenny Hart first tried embroidery in the summer of 2000 and quickly became known for her stitched portraits of the famous and infamous. Her works have appeared in numerous books and magazines including Vogue, Rolling Stone, BUST, Nylon & Juxtapoz. She founded Sublime Stitching in 2001 with a new model for embroidery design and resources. Since then, Hart has become an internationally recognized fine artist and designer. She has authored eight titles on embroidery for Chronicle Books, and her drawings and works in embroidery have been exhibited and published internationally. In 2012 the Renwick gallery intends to acquire her artwork for the permanent collection of the Smithsonian American Art Museum.

Isn't it fun?! The track is called Wonderful Whistling and it's from our production music archive.

Is a production music archive something that anyone can access, or is it subscription based or ??? Sorry if this is a really naieve question, but I love to make my own little videos and I'm always on the lookout for copyright-proper ways to get good soundtracks. thanks for any help you can offer!

Well there are different levels. We use a professional service that would probably be a bit too costly for you if you weren't monetizing your content. A good service can be a few thousand dollars a year. But if you search copy-right free music online, there are services that are free, the music just may be limiting in selection. I also have noticed that YouTube provides a service as well. Search the help section from the Home Page and you'll probably find some info there. Best of luck!

So Im actually having issues! Whenever I embroider, the fabric gets loose and its not as tight as I started off with! I try to tighten the screw as tight as possible (until my fingers get red) but after maybe 5 or 6 stitches, it loosens! please help!
