ironically what Damien is talking about in the first scene, has already happened: "the grandeur of melancholy, the divinity of loneliness, the purity of evil, the paradise of pain", even "the leaden monotony of human existence", yep, people have gone through this definitely since the recession and the middle eastern wars and 9/11..

Death to all Christianity! FEED THE CHRISTIANS TO THE LIONS!

@srlibra...I agree, but I think your infatuated with Sam Neil a little. He's cool and all, but common man. This is the only trilogy in my lifetime (since 1970's), where I can't stand the first 2, but really enjoyed the Third. Omen 1 is flakey at best. Omen 2: Damien is a bunch of shit, but this Omen 3: The Final Conflict is a "true" work of Satan stories. 3 1/2 out of 4 stars, due to some mild flakiness.

I love Sam Neill he was brilliant here as the Adult Damien,he was the perfect choice to play the Sinister and Creepy Damien Thorn, Sam Neill puts in a great performance as the Devil's son and he is also my favourite actor.I love him.I thought Sam was really handsome and Hot in this role.when I watched Sam playing Damien in this movie.i thought he was really sexy and Charismatic and this was a great movie continuing after Omen 1&2.and I love this scene it was really creepy and very intense.

Lisa Harrow as Kate Reynolds who plays a Reporter was really good in her role and she was a good actress. You can see that her character has at least three sides to her. As a reporter, she's intrigued by Damien's vast wealth and growing political power. As a mother, she's frightened of his influence on her troubled teenage son.Rossano Brazzi is excellent as Father DeCarlo, the priest determined to end the stranglehold that the Antichrist has on the world.

Awesome for Sam Niel's break out role.

Muslims and Jews were born into the flames. Because the christ offered them false projected beliefs in his image, along with other religions such as wicca,pagans.....so on

@cvm8281 Sadly, you just proved his point.
If your "love for Jesus" the only thing that keeps you from doing what you just threatened to do, then you just lost the argument completely.
People like you are the reason that these bronze-age invisible sun-deity cults are still alive.
The script in this movie was utterly brilliant at certain moments. This is one of those moments, brought to life by Sam Neil's very underrated performance as Damien.

@kir33k that is so true. Sam Neill was , indeed, grossly underrated as an actor in this overall mediocre film. In my opinion, this scene coupled with Jerry Goldsmith's bloody brilliant score were the crowing glory of this film. I especially love the music in the observatory awaiting Christ's return, the Main Theme as well as The last scene in the church.
