Mid range build build shopping around. CPU came from Micro Center for $200!! also Antec 902 for $119 had to pay tax , ebay p6t and gtx 285, NewEgg Antec 1000 tru, Noctua, G.Skill 6gb ddr3-2000. Had a spare WD green 1TB HD. Partitioned 120 on C, Win 7 64. HW costs around 1300 - $1400. Not bad I think. Was gonna go AMD 965 X4, but performance /$ ratio not as good as the i7 93. Overclock is a must! Get the D0 stepping Spec and research any news on specific batch # - Made in Costa Rica

  • That CPU pll is way too high. You could probably bring it down to 1.7 and reduce temps. If anything you should just keep it at 1.8 unless you know you need the extra juice, but probably not.

  • Good clock, but the reason your temperature is at 80c is because I think you have over 1.4 voltage on the CPU, if you haven't lowered that down as far as it will go and you are able to you will get better temps. 80c is fine, a bit high, but as long as it's only 80c when you are stressing. Otherwise it will likely max like 70 in real time if that. I got mine at 4.2 without hyperthreading with 1.28v under a Megahalems. Max temp around 65c. So I got a pretty good chip.

  • it seems that 4.2ghz is the limit for the i7 930. i mean i can get over 4.2ghz but its just not stable no matter how much i up the CPU voltage..

  • your pc sounds like sound grenade

  • i need the noise and the light to sleep

  • @angelj31

the noise is bearable and its because of the fan and it helps me sleep

  • nine hundrer two yeah!

  • @JpeltakaCyberBeast yea i bought another 120mm antec fan, damn thing fitted but not once i installed my aftermarket cpu cooler! so i took it off and placed it inside where there is a spare slot(fits just behind the graphics card)
