prob set the record for getting the most teams on probation too. most every school he coached at he left quickly before the NCAA cracked down on the infractions that he incurred there.

Agree to the nth power. Can make a case for Casper being the best NFL tight end ever, too. Just watch some old Raider game films, he's fearsome.
I have a feeling that Kelly is on the right track. If ND can get the kind of defensive secondary that Lou's teams had, the sky's the limit. Go Irish!

I would, he turned more teams around to more success than any other coach. He took 6 teams to bowl games(record), 4 teams to finish in the top 20(record), is a helluva guy and has the best pep talks I have ever heard.
