"Anyone can develop 'good technique' but give me Wynton Kelly's music over any of the dextrous (but soulless) wonders."

@dreadtodred Yes. Wynton had so much soul and personality in his playing. Ultimately, when I listen to people like him, Horace Silver and Monk, it's those qualities that move me. Anyone can develop 'good technique' but give me Wynton Kelly's music over any of the dextrous (but soulless) wonders.

wynton was awesome. Some pianist were critical because he lifted his pinky on his right hand,,which is supposed to be a no-no.Who cares, if you can play is what matters, and he could play

Wynton always sounds elegant to me. Like someone called him, "Wine-tone".
