  • Yeah, Rubies is special so is all of Jewels.  You must see the Blu Ray DVD of Jewels by the Paris Opera Ballet. Sensational. The extras are worth it alone. Interviews with Lacroix, POB director, Jewels director, the Etoiles, and best of all, Barbara Horgan, Balanchine's secretary since the '50s and now head of the Balanchine Trust. There is one problem: it will spoil you forever. The POB is that magnificent, and BTW, the orchestra is also as special as all else.

    Could anybody give a bit of background information to the dancers on what they are doing? It's not that hard.
