Adopt this Rare White Koala!
This is Mick the rare white koala who was in our care but has since been released. He's not albino, just pure white - which is rarer still.

You can "adopt" Mick through the Koala Hospital's Adopt a Wild Koala program: http://www.koalahospital.org.au/adopt/viewkoala.php?Koala=127

  • Do they bite?

  • @theCHA70 Yes, but generally only if being handled. They are more likely to scratch than bite. Koalas have two pointy teeth at the front of their jaw (top and bottom) designed for clipping off leaf. There is a lot of strength in these teeth and they can do serious damage! Search Flickr for "koala teeth" and you will see. We use towels and canvas bags to prevent injury to the handler and minimise stress to the koala.

  • he's not albino he's just a white koala...if he was albino he wouldn't have a black nose and his eyes would be red

  • awww

  • That´s "my" koala. i have adopted it with my boyfriend last year:)

  • Someone told me koalas are related to house cats. Is this true?

  • He is so cute I wish I could hve him

  • @TheYouPoop Wrong. There are no "regular white" koalas. White is an extremely rare colour in a koala. He is not albino.

  • @Hannahmb1 actually he is albino BECAUSE he has a black nose and his eyes are yellow. regular whites have a white nose

  • @koalawrangler I am not saying what I do based on domesticated animals. All animals are unique in their own way....yes. I agree. You are doing good work. No doubt! I look forwards to more about them.

  • @koalawrangler GOOD! I am just saying...don't be afraid to consider that they may be even more aware than we can even imagine. I wouldn't want to suggest your not doing terrific work...it is just when people decide that an animal knows something or not. Looking at the brain and measuring intellect can only take one so far. There is a lot of new information out there that is making people think a little more about these things.
