Elliot's pep rally speech
We have no present without our past, and what a past we have had. We've won every championship imaginable, from OFSAA and CISSA titles, to debating awards and math contests. But where do we go from here? What more can be accomplished when it seems we have achieved everything. That however is not the attitude of a champion. A champion never rests on the achievements of his predecessors. A champion never sees himself as the best. He is always ready to fight, to prove himself to lead his men to victory. That is the St. Michael's spirit. That is why we are all here today. We are here because of our undying devotion to this school, to our friends, to our brothers.
There is no greater feeling than the glory of the St. Michael's spirit. Feel it in every beat of your heart, through the butterflies in your stomach before the game. Feel it when you hear a thousand other voices yelling at the top of their lungs. Feel it when you chant Hoikety Choik on C. Feel it course through your veins...till you too Bleed the double blue. The spirit of St. Michael's is in all of us. Awaken that spirit.
Because, when the last bell rings and the final buzzer sounds, what will we have left? We may forget trigonometry or the names of the elements, but we will never forget these defining moments.
We are the architects of our own destiny. When we stand out there on those bleachers tomorrow, we are not just there for a game we are witness to that destiny. Friendships will be born, brotherhood renewed, the bonds that tie us together will be strengthened and the St. Michael's spirit will live on.
Stand with us tomorrow. Be a part of a hundred and fifty-eight year legacy of excellence and honour. Be there So that you may tell your children and your children's children about your school... our school.
Tell them about the Metrobowls, the buzzers games, the Blue Raiders, The Knights, the Blue Harriers, The Double Blues, the Kerry Blues about Babbloo. Tell them about the MSquad. Tell them about your best friends, the girl you met at the dance. Tell them about the day you lost your voice from yelling so loud, or the time you scored the winning goal. Tell them about the Fathers...the teachers...the students...the principal.
Tell them about all these things.
Tell them about St. Mike's
