Whilst the question really has nothing to do with this video, I would maybe think about setting some variables that store the users selections and then set the various parts of the character from those variables when you hit play.

Hi there, I'm currently using Flash CS3. I'm wanting to make a short simple animation of a man moving. I'm wanting to also create an interface before the animation plays where you can choose the mans clothes/hair style etc. so that when you press play the man has the hairstyle etc. that you chose. Do you know how I would go about that?
