Yes, but the art is derivative from past vampire stories. It's fair to compare it to its predecessors and point out its shortcomings.

@christiangoth84 Thats the beauty of a movie and the artistical freedom provided to whom is making it. Film is an art film and the creator can twist it to how he wants, vampires dont exist, someone made them up, and since there is no existing real life basis to use, they can be re-created.

The one thing that they didn't do enough in the Underworld series is emphasize the need for feeding. Selene takes a shotgun to the abdomen? Make her drain a few folks to recover the blood she uses in healing herself. Needs to exercise heightened strength and speed? Another one or two people! Vampires are monsters, don't lose sight of that just because you want to make a movie about their internal struggles and their war with werewolves.
