  • dump in diesel!? LOOOOL

  • You going to cause issue's for yourself diesels don't need dump valves as they don't have a throttle body, you just making your turbo work harder as it has to re boost the air that got dumped out

  • @doomie61 when you let off the throttle its negative pressure. meaning the pressure reverses.

    this wont hurt the compressor.

not even sure it could spin the compressor as the fins are only pointed one direction.

  • @SuPrAmAd101 wastegates only control boost from the exhaust side of the turbo (turbine) and cannot release pressure that has built up from the compressor side.. wastegates and dumpvalves are two totally different things

  • @doomie61 a standard turbo car has a wastegate which allows the pressure to be released anyway.

  • @SuPrAmAd101 You gain NOTHING, if you don't have a dump valve and you request full pressure from the turbo then release the throttle it close's now all that pressure will then go back through the compressor and causing a problem known as compressor surge/stall, dump valves are only there to stop that so you don't break your turbo.. look up compressor surge

  • @fredster800 did you enjoy your holiday on elevenareef?

  • @weedissafer Unless you read the whole conversation that iv just had... DONT post.

i know this is a tdi, i wasnt replying to the video uploader.

  • @SuPrAmAd101 wat r u fucking retarded?? u cant hear it or read the engine label?god ur stupid....

  • @doomie61 He didnt state whether it was petrol or not. I was just proving the point that they still "do" increase bhp.

but yes thank you for correcting my post.

  • @SuPrAmAd101 in a petrol yes but diesels doesn't have a throttle body, and use that built up pressure to cool the pistons

  • @tjpessego Actually a bov can increase bhp by 1-3bhp

A bov allows the pressure in the intake to be realeased.

This allows the turbine to start to spin again quicker... This reduces the turbo lag.

    Dont you feel stupid now?

I love when you get a Mr know it all trying to give his "weeks worth of knowledge"

I suggest you do your research on the subject in hand, maybe you wont feel silly next time.
