Love this book! Dostoevsky is a genius: getting you to feel the anxiety and dizziness and darkness in a character such as Raskolnikov. I'm reading 'The Idiot' now. I dare say it impossible for anyone not to relate to at least one, if not more, of his characters; you are completely enamored with worlds that are so beautifully created through his writings. My favorite author by far!

This is far from his greatest novel.

Yes, agreed he is the master

i'm not gunna lie, i had a VERY hard time sitting down to read this book. i found the plot extremely hard to get into. oncei sparknote-s it and watched some video clips on here to get the general plot its was a lot easier to sit down and read it, because then i was curious to find what was left out.

I like Kafka personally more, but dostovesky is still great, i'm reading the idiot now.

I really love 'Crime and Punishment'. You're right, it's a great book, but it's so much more than this clip suggests... I think the clip makes it seem sorta like a cheap thriller.

I liked this clip so much, it represents the story accurately with a pace which is in contrast with the heaviness of a classic novel. Very creative and modern. Great work!
And u mentioned suggestions below.. I'd like to see a clip like this for another classic "Tale of the Two Cities" by Charles Dickens :)

You are correct.

Raskolnikov's motive was not simply the money, he ditches all the valuables. His motives were obscure although I'm sure if they made it a movie they would simplify it in such a way.
I understand: but posting is easy. If you can, I could help you. Anyway, we could change some ideas regarding the next bookclip!
