Aka Chuang Guandong is a Chinese drama aired in 2008 about a group of migrants escaping the Chaos and famines of Shangdong to a region in the Northeast called Guangdong. Set roughly the same period as Good Earth, it follow a similar hardship and difficult journey from rags to riches. Though in this case, it's a far more interesting story. (though it is way too melodramatic towards the end. But the begging is par excellence)
