Arduino RC Car Hack

Here's a video showing how I hacked a cheap RC car from Toys'r'Us so that it can be controlled over the internet from anywhere in the world. I used an Arduino microcontroller, an RC car and a netbook. For more info, check out http://rixrover.blogspot.com/

what is it that u used to control the remote? octal isolaters? and to the pewe guy not like he broke the lap top he can just take it off, hes just using usb to connect to circut try to think before you put stuff up that makes you look stupid yourself.

@TheWhatevernow I used four 4N25 Opto-Isolators. They are basically switches. Inside of an opto-isolator there is an LED on one side, and a photo-transistor on the other. The fact that light is used to trigger the switch decouples the input and output circuits.

You should slim it down using the xbee sheild... I am experimenting with this as well. its really fun, I wrote my TCP IP server in a scripting language called autoit. Have you made any updates to this since you posted the video?
