Derek's csc490 project. A proof-of-concept demo of what can be achieved with today's technology. Motion capture was interfaced with the game, but any of today's next gen controllers can be used. There's two motion capture devices: a hat which maps its coordinates and rotation to the game as the player's position and look direction, and a gun which maps its coordinates and angle as a crosshair on the screen.

  • Hey, good work but that link is empty.

Where could I get more info?

  • Looks like my homepage on the utsc site is down and I didn't make a back up. I probably have the code lying around somewhere, but I don't really remember where I've put it now.

What sort of extra info were you looking for?

  • This would be amazing with a game like oblivion or Skyrim. It's so odd this novel way of creating 3d immersion is not being utilized.

  • He seems to not know what he is saying???????

  • I'd rather use Nvidia's "3D Vision" glasses with a 3D Projector and play games in 3D on a 100 inch screen. For driving games I would use a "Playseat" and hook up a "Buttkicker" to it, and use a G27 Steering Wheel, with 7.1 Surround sound.

    But that's just me :-)

  • I'd be nice to have some kind of publication...

But anything you could give would work.

    thanks!

  • japanese already do this using laser sensor, i play it in a mall near my place, its a japanese game shooting, u need to duck if u want to duck and posisiton ur body or ull gonna get shot, game developer need to seek more detail tech from japs man, they're good
