Hitchens debates Ken Blackwell from the Family Research Council on the decline of christianity in the United States. This country was founded on secular ideology - not christian dogma.

Statistics unambiguously show that all religion - christianity in particular - is declining in the United States, and will continue to do so.

  • Hitchens is clear, intelligent and concise. Blackwell is flustered desperate and cherry picking. Blackwell is having a crisis of faith. Just take note of his nervous laugh and painful smile. 100% HITCHSLAPPED!

  • 1st Commandment; Worship only Yahweh.

    1st Amendment; Worship whomever you please.

    America is in direct dispute with Judeo-Christian doctrine.

  • i truly try not to be biased when hearing religious argument but it is honestly impossible to take serious. I will never understand how anyone can agree with this complete nonsense.

  • you know what Christian morals were actually responsible for in our nation? Slavery.

  • Laughing idiot.

  • Hitchens domintated the debate...like always!

    This blackwell guy got his ass handed to him!

  • I feel a little embarrassed for Mr. Blackwell. Clearly, he wasn't expecting what he got. Hitchens was tying the man into knots, and he wasn't able to do much more than repeat himself a few times, and reducing his defense to, "well that's just like, your opinion man."

  • The leaders called the "founders" of the US were deist (agnostic) or secular. The common people were mostly Christian.

  • @MobiusCoin that sounds unlikely,but I will give you the benefit of the doubt......

    So you let others .

    Doom you, for eternity,bad choice..............:{

  • @ClarksonsinUSA When sons of a Christian nation sees that you treat even Christians of different skin, of different class, and of different sexual orientation, who are NOT wicked people, just different, when they see that moment of pain in their eyes caused by Christian hypocrisy, if they are human in the slighest they will see as so many have what Christianity seeks to do. And if they are human... they will want no part of it.

  • @ClarksonsinUSA I was one such son (at least of the Christian faith). But through muted institutionalized racism and the hypocrisy the leaders, saying to love one another then showing cruelty to derision it was made clear that though they said otherwise, their acts demonstrated that they did not want my kind (Asian converted Christians) in their congregations. And thus I became an atheist. You speak of indoctrination, we are smarter than that.

  • Blackwell got owned.....pure and simple.....
