i am yoruba descendant, as a matter of fact nigerian and i must say i am impressed and happy for this info especially to african americans. it's high time african americans stop being ignorant and claim what belongs to them buy joining forces with africans. the jamaicans, black brazilians, bahamians have african celebrations so therefore african americans can do thesame thing thank you very much.

@oluwalogbon58 In music we also have jazz, blues, gospel, soul/r&b, funk, swing, ragtime. We have Nina Simone, Aretha, Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Sarah Vaughan, Art Tatum, John Coltrane and too many others to name. The music of Black people from North & South America & the Caribbean ruled 20th century music, nothing in 21st has changed that . I saw the video on Nigerian music industry, rap & r&b seems to be the top seller.

I like what he says..however please don't call him king..no royalty. My name is also Oba...Obanike..it's a name, not a right.

I am in love with Oyotunji. I have seen enough film that triggered my hunger for my culture. Oyotunji appears to have wonderful priest and priestess. I yearn to learn.

Thanks for supporting the African culture!!! I'm yoruba from ogun state, nigeria and i am proud of you....

i was curious to know if you had actually gone there i know that kabesi does give audiences to different people who come to pay homage or study etc.. He is part of my growing up and a very kind man.. i prefer aa's like you who actually look at the cultures where their ancestors came from and want to learn something from them. pretending to be from ancient khemet has nothing to do with the real world. sorry. and i know that yorubas dont claim egyptian culture as we are not ashamed of our own...

i want to know have any of you made a trip to ILE-IFE that is my hometown where my family hail from ..we are from Modakeke which is the town inside ile-ife .. as you must know this is the heart of YORUBALAND and where our KING RESIDES IN HIS OFFICIAL PALACE.. its very difficult to see him but am sure he does give audience to visitors.. That is the birthplace of our culture by tradition its interesting.. i like when aa's make real efforts to get to know our cultures for a change.
to be honest, i am not going to hate on aa's for making the effort to know about our cultures . at least they dont say they are egyptian like most of them do . these ones are trying and not shying away from the west african cultures of their forefathers. no shame in their game then.lol!
