i have no idea how my computer is still running so smooth i have an emachines motherboard i added a Redeon 5770 Graphics card an intel core 2 duo 2.93Ghz and an ECO advanced liquid cooling system and the power supply is only 250 watt its like magic the weird thing is i bought an 450watt psu and it blew up but the 250 runs fine

running one graphic card is it possible to run this system with a 500 watt PSU?

if it's an a-brand, yes. the minimum requirement is 450watt i believe.

@thierryvt thats bullshit, even the most powerfull pc's with 1 graphic card only require around 500 watt psu. basic new pcs only use around 300watt

@Turpaani i don't know to what post you replied but yes. even with the most powerful graphics card you will probably have enough power with a 500 watt psu (depending on the rest of your system of course).
But 300 watt is low if you ask me, even for a basic pc and not smart. it doesn't leave you with alot of expanding options...
but for a gaming system, i wouldn't go with less then 600 watt even if it was just to have some headroom.
