Verizon partnered with Duke Energy to provide the telecommunications network for Envision: Charlotte, a public-private collaboration to make the commercial buildings in Charlotte's urban core more energy efficient




The company also invested in Consert, a company that develops software which enables utility customers to monitor and reduce their energy consumption over wireless Internet connections. Participants realized an average energy savings of 19%.
