That was a critical game for the Mets. Seaver gave up a run in the 9th (Brooks Robinson drove in Frank Robinson with a sac. fly, Ron Swoboda making a spectacular, one-handed diving catch). The Mets came back in the bottom of the 10th to win it, the key play being a throwing error by Orioles' reliever Pete Richert (a fine, underrated pitcher). Seaver pitched all 10 innings for the win. That gave the Mets a 3 games to 1 lead, and they would win the series the next day behind Jerry Koosman.

Great run down of his work ethic in "ABC's of Pitching." Ferocious Dodger fan but I would race home from school to watch Tom Seaver pitch. Wonderful drop and drive pitcher.

Taking NOTHING away from Tom Terrific, but those tricky shadows also help...
Side note - saw him the next year, we go to stadium just as team bus was pulling up...and they all got out...all our heroes...Hodges, Yogi, Kranepool, Swoboda...and yes, Tom T! 40 years later still get goosebumps!

Tom Seaver is my all time favorite Met. Just look at the way his fastball exploded at the end, and he had such a great curveball. What a great video, favored for sure.
@JustinVerlander35 and this is AFTER he already pitched up to the 7th inning
