    Whoever feels mclaughlin doesnt play with feel is probably an asshole..All they want is john mayer to sing blues and pop tunes at crossroads and play slow which is termed as playing by feel..Listen to the interplay between musicians,the spontaneous improvs..its just at a higher level..

    It's called the dumbing down of society is what the US has. they don't understand this stuff, because they want slick produced (overly) ear candy or metal Rock God BS, or "something that's got a good beat that they can dance to". I don't mind Mayer, he's better than a lot of the other crap out there. At least the guy has studied the older blues players, so he's got that going for himself, he's just got his niche and doesn't stray too far from it to keep his audience.

    john McLaughlin ..is an inspired virtuoso..player and composer..for me up to his..que alegria..era..which I saw live..and got to talk with jml..after a concert in Brisbane,australia..1993.i have written poetry to jml's music..i have cried to his music.......but.....jimi Hendrix...was/is....beyond this....jimi Hendrix...WAS A GENIUS.THE ONLY GENIUS ROCK MUSIC HAS EVER PRODUCED. thank-you,jml...god bless...
