My band & I did 2 UK tours with Dick in the 1980's and worked alongside him on a few shows when we toured Canada in 1984. Dick Damron is definitely one of the nicest guys I've ever had the pleasure of knowing in this crazy & sometimes phoney business they call "show".

I love this guy - when I first hit the Country scene in The Lower Mainland - along with Elmer Tippe and Dave Paul and Ray McAuley, Dick was one of the folks who made me feel welcomed. About as UNswell-headed and down-to-earth as you could get. A great heart, great writer - and great fun !!!

I'm a family friend of the Damrons - Dicks brother Bob (Clarence) and his wife Joya. I only met Dick two or three times, I rode up on the old Harley, he (Dick) and I chatted at Bob's house for a bit. He's as down to earth as you and I. Fame does not taint a good soul.
My best friend before I joined the Army (Canadian Forces) Was Dicks nephew, Dana Damron. Bob and Joya's Son. He was killed in the late 70's by a train in Red Deer, Alberta Canada. My Sister and Dana were sorta dating.

Oh My, I remember singing that song when I was a little girl. Dick was a family friend. I remember waving to him threw the TV.

Dick had (and still has!) a great voice -to bad he didn't get his records on a bigger label! Got two LP's of him -love to hear 'Alberta Skyline'!!! I'll cut it myself one day!

Was this Dick Damron guy the same guy as the Rockabilly Dickie Damron in the 1950's who had hits like "I Guees Thats Life"?

Yes same guy. Member of the CCMA Hall of Honour in Canada. Started out as a Rockabilly artist in the 50's. Dick is also a book author.
