@JAPAN180SX Autism cannot be caught. It's developmental, from conception. Would it shock you to know when autism was first recognized it was said to be caused because the children had cold mothers? This has also been proven incorrect of course and yet there are those out there still spouting this drivel. The vaccine thing is a simple COINCIDENCE because it is received at the same time most children begin to display autistic characteristics. If a vaccine caused it, everyone would be autistic.

I am wondering when the children move from shoe box tasks to academic curriculum and how?

TEACCH was the only method my son responded too, since he was put into an ABA school by our local authority, he lost all speech and in diapers aged 17 after 12 years of AbA

I have been looking for different activities to try with my son. I can use some of the ideas that you displayed here.
Thank you.

My son is 4 and nothing caused his Autism. He was autistic from the moment he was born (or before). His dad is Asperger's. There is no cure, but therapies help a lot.

@AnElephantThatPaints ahhh the vaccine theory..although covered up by most ,some doctors and scientist will say yes the vaccine shots can cause damage to the child at which leaving him/her , a highly functioning child with autisum...as far as reversing it yes that is utter bullshit...

i would love to try this sort of thing with the special needs children i work with. i bet they would have fun and be very engaged.
People like Jenny Mcarthy are just brain washing people into thinking that GF/CF and other holistic diet/supplements would cure autism. Certainly having a holistic balanced food/supplements would be beneficial to any kid (autistic or not), but to claim that it cures autism is stupid. Jenny just makes her millions with books and TV shows spreading these nonsense. As far as vaccine link, the british doctors who came up with this theory were sued by British govt recently.
