Not to be a dick, but I am an Option coach and I guarrantee you that the QB never ever reads a linebacker for the give. And no the 4i did not make it easier. Honestly they shouldnt be running veer against a 4i and a 7. Cause the FBs path on Veer is not meant to cutback ever. The only time it is is when they run a predetermined dive play and this was not. They should have ran midline. They scored because of terrible tackling and the C and backside G, and T did a goodjob getting to the 2nd level

Not quite exactly right. On further review it was the playside T that helped double the Mike. In the end it was still stupid to put Mike on dive when there would obviously be a double team comming to him. He's a football player not superman.

Yeah they were basically playing an over with the 3 almost in a 4i. That 4i alignment made this play even easier. The back T picked up the WILL, the front side G cut the 1 tech N, the C released for Mike, the front side G stood up the 4i tech and read the SAM, when the SAM went after QB the G changed his read to MIKE and released when the front side T pushed him off to take over the 4i. Lastly the front SB blocked the E.

Mike came up as dive defender and got double teamed by the Center and front side guard. Bad game planning as far as I'm concerned.

No I mean you cant be cute and think you are going to put someone else on the dive back other than what they give you as a read. All other players are assinged blockers. If your dive defender cant shed his blocker the dive breaks for huge yardage. You have to use the defenders they give you when playing flexbone.

Guard on middle backer is a mismatch in favor of the guard. Thinking you mike can shed that block and tackle the mike all night is a joke.
