Apparently there is no need to exhaust steam to that extent. Just poor driving. You would think it would severely restrict the driver's view as well.

Great video, just a pity about the steam. What you waited patiently for, got blocked out by the steam.Would the drivers of these locos first exhaust the steam and wait just a small while then leave.At least you would get great shots of both steam and engine departing.Lets face it, it is people like yourself who take outstanding videos who are the biggest advertisers for these steam outings

@190857 Hi Greg Why the drivers exhaust the steam (1) to clear water from the cylinders when cold and (2) to get a softer pull-away like a low gear. Thanks for your comments..........Pete.
