Tomas Kopecky Destroys Mathieu Carle (KOed)

DETROIT - Montreal defenceman Mathieu Carle was carried off the ice on a stretcher after being hit by Detroit's Tomas Kopecky during an exhibition game Wednesday night.

Carle lost and regained consciousness on the ice after the hit. He was taken to Detroit Medical Center for further testing.

The injury happened about five minutes into the exhibition game. Kopecky hit Carle after he had passed the puck at the Red Wings blue-line.

Remember Stanislav Neckar? His last name is pronounced Nets-Kash. Why it's spelled Neckar is beyond me. But the "ec" in both his and Kopecky's name is pronounced as "etts".
