A number of small changes have landed on the Ubuntu 13.04 desktop in the latest update to Unity.

Although none of them will be causing any jaws to drop in wonderment, the small and subtle - if not yet finished - updates do fix a number of out-standing usability 'bugs'.

0:30 ABOUT TIME! I love the overlay scrollbars, and not having them in the dash was inconsistent and made scrolling harder in some cases.

omg, the useless workspace switcher icon that you can't remove [in 12.xx] is now actually useful (showing the currently active workspace, instead of the static icon in 12.xx).

just Try Manjaro Arch Linux :) Arch on a stable way, has its own repo and software are always nearest fresher then ubuntu way... when drives good never reinstall for a new version, monthly updates :) and it has cinnamon too , its nice lighter users could go for Xfce or lxde and even cummunity based E17 or more a middle between cinnamon and xfce, the Mate-desktop.. KDE is also nice :)

Before Mint comes anywhere near perfect, the team needs to revamp the:

    1. icon theme

    2. Gtk theme

    3. Cinnamon Menu/default theme

well for one thing ubuntu must be appreciated that they are trying to make linux more user friendly but the problem is they are not focusing on performance GUI's always make things slower and truth is that most gui's choices are not better than gnome2.I am using gnome3 at first i didn't liked it but slowly i am getting used to it.For me gui's don't matter what is more important is hardware support . WIFI and Graphic Cards sucks on linux and no distro is focusing on it , which is most important..

The greatest thing are great because of the details, not in the fancy "calling atention-like" changes, I still don't like at all Ubuntu, but I started to like it just a little, and then they screwed it with the Amazon's lens, it sucks: "Don't you like the spam? just take a few (a lot) results of your searching of oferts and shit-like", and the performance is still worst, but all isn't bad, Precise Pangolin it's aceptable in performance, and theese changes aren't bad at all. I hope it improves.

Don't know why people hate Ubuntu as it self.

But i can understand if they hate Unity, imho it's damn slow and buggy, so i've installed Cinnamon, now i'm happy.

BTW: I was running Arch a long time, but i need a stable system for development.

More of a CrunchBang fanboy, really. Just wanted to share a lousy experience with installing Windows 7, which most people don't have to do. Just get sick of the Ubuntu bashing. I imagine anyone buying a Dell XPS 13 Developer Edition for example will also have a nicely setup trouble-free system.
