A driech day at the Wallace Monument.Started in 1861 finished in 1869,this monument was built to the memory of Sir William Wallace, the Scots patriot. The fact that the monument was built more than 500 years after his death at the hands of the English, shows how highly he was held in regard by the Scottish nation!
