A tribute to Robert Smithson's "Floating Island". The park on a barge towed by a tug was created by the New York arts group Minetta Brook under the supervision of Nancy Holt, Bob's widow. One could see "Floating Island" on the Hudson and East rivers around lower Manhattan in September 2005. The event coordinated with a Smithson retrospective at the Whitney and with a symposium on the artist at Hunter College.
