  • Just got this CD for my mums birthday...I love them!

  • went to see them in burnley last night! absoslutely fabulous!

  • these guys are amazing so much better than the rubbish thats out now days

  • @inyobill I mean this without spite or aggression, that came across as nothing more than a one-dimensional, somewhat banal expression of a single preference. It was also clearly dressed up as insightful analysis.

  • 3 people are from Devon

  • @inyobill Get a life! What a load of sycophantic garbage - how many mains have you had to raise........ Do us all a favour and keep 'your thoughts and tastes' to yourself.......

  • Awesome version. I much to prefer this over the one with Show of Hands - I'm not mad on the wailing parts!

  • im 17 year odl american who stumbled upon these guys, and i love it because it reminds me of my visits across the pond!!

  • they dont even need the backing music they are superb the way they are!!!! i know this because i saw them at cambridge ;)

  • Most groups sing this song at much too quick of a tempo. It is totally inappropriate for the material and sounds much slower. Note that the pace most groups sing it would be impossible to use as a shanty for synchronizing the pull to raise a main s'l. Technical historical correctness aside, I think it works better MUSICALLY at a slower pace. Other versions by The Fiserman's Friends I've heard are even a bit slower and for my taste works much better.
