@berrik500 agreed, orchestra is very lower sound volume

The orchestral contributions are not my favourite ones, but Karita is great, as is this extraordinary somewhat uneven masterpiece. The combination with this video works as a thunderstorm with great impact. Thanks a lot.

Kiitos Karita! Syvä kumarrus sinulle suuri humanisti ja taiteilija! Kaunista ja taas kaunista, pieni ihminen hukkuu tuohon kauneuteen...

Thanks very much. The images are beautifully appropriate (and the subtitles were helpful). Mattilla is a true artist.

Incredible performance

Such moving piece and beautiful sound
the orchestra has superb resonance!!
And Mattila Ollila found a beautiful soft and deep interpretation with no aggressiveness as sometimes you hear around Teenkö tuulehen tupani.
Such profoundness of tone, like a late Strauss.
Thank you for the beautiful video, and greetings to all from Jerusalem Israel

This presentation comes from the 1.1.2000 Millennium New Year's Eve TV concert in Tampere-Talo, Tampere, Finland. The orchestra is the Tampere Philharmonic conducted by Tuomas Ollila. The video here was introduced on the screen, and when Ms Mattila started singing, exactly at midnight, the video continued to be projected at the back screen of the concert hall.
The performance, and I remember Ms Mattila's costume in particular was spectacular. Hopefully someone's able to fish out the rest.
