Learn how to erect a small wind turbine. It is not that complicated, but must be done correctly. 1 kW to 20 kW size turbines, can be put up, or taken down in 3 or 4 hours.
Basic steps: 1. Check the site for easements and legal issues 2. Dig the hole (In this case for a 5 kWh, 10 feet deep by 38" diameter), 3. Put anchor bolts in the hole. 4. Pour concrete in the hole and fill it 4. After the concrete sets, attach the base on the anchor bolts 5. The bole should be bolted together, and pulled up by a crane 6. Attach the turbine to the top of the pole and run the wires through the middle 7. Pull the turbine up, measure to be sure is straight 8. Have electrician run wires and hook to the controller and inverter 9. Be sure blades are tied with a rope until the unit is fully attached.
We recommend that you use reputable qualified companies to install turbines, and be sure you have insurance on your site that includes the turbine. It can easily be added to your insurance policy like any other equipment, towers, signs or so on, at very inexpensive rates.
Wind Inc. sells turbines, but we are glad to consult with you on your site location, or help advise during your installation, for $650 per day or $150 per hour. Site inspections are a base of $150 plus mileage.
