Kumba's design was fantastic, especially for its time, a true technical feat. Every part of the track was shaped meticulously, squeezing the most air, intensity and vertigo factor out of every turn, climb and drop whilst never betraying your heartline or center of gravity. Compare this to the same-year Drachen Fire... From that moment on, it was pretty clear that B&M, not Arrow, would be the world leader in truly great rides that would always stand the test of time.
@ehoss07 i know! it was the only ride in the park that i had to take a little break after (and that's odd for me, i'm a hardcore coaster rider). and i loved it! lol this thing has the loudest lifthill in the park too .D classic B&M coaster and still one of my favorites!
IMO, It's the best of the old and new. It's layout was innovative when it opened and has been copied numerous times because it's that good!, but on the other hand the ride features that classic intensity and pacing that modern day loopers lack(But Kumba is smooth unlike other old loopers). The ride also has a nice theme and isn't just thrown onto a plot of land like many other loopers. Those things I mentioned combined with its history and this coaster is a true legend!

i think the best thing about the kumba is how it has been unchanged since 1993. i rode it last year and the positive G's were insane!
