Nickelodeon built the Studios in an attempt to bring a bit of Hollywood to the east coast. During the 80's through the mid 90's that was ok. But by the time that game shows fell out of favor with the general public, actors realized that there was nothing for them in Florida, so they chose to leave. Only Dee Bradley Baker stuck around Orlando and he couldn't find decent work. He moved to Los Angeles at the suggestion of Kirk Fogg and the rest is history.

Nick & Disney are giving their target audiences the types of programs that they want to see. If a program fails to click with viewers, it would be pulled just like bad programs are pulled on network television.

  • @nomadcowatbk

Thus that group of people have aged out of Nick & Disney's target audience, and the networks have changed their focus towards the kids of today.

  • @nomadcowatbk

Yes,, in most instances, the 18->49 demographic is highly sought after by advertisers....but....Nickelodeon & Disney Channel are kids networks. They are not targeting that age range, and companies that do business with the networks realize that fact. Commercials for toys, games & dolls will be seen much more often than commercials for automobiles and other things of interest to an older/more mature audience.

  • @bewarethedecks

it offers cheap labor for film/tv producers since Florida is a right to work state, but anything outside of Hollywood or LA is considered to be backwater by the media, even in the Blue states

  • @TONYE17

Sega's only successful systems were the genesis and game gear

  • @tdwpddg4

kids now have to be sibling of someone already famous to get on nick

  • @bewarethedecks

no golden era of nick, just more rehased hollywood crap, being in Orlando kept them away from that when the studio was open

  • @bewarethedecks

but they're now in the 18-49 demographic, the most desirable demographic

  • @bewarethedecks

but the original generation of Nick kids are in the 18-49 demographic, the age most advertisers really care about
